Rebel Cup 2020: Rules & Regulations
The Rebel Cup 2020 season play will run for 20 weeks and will consist of our season-ending Shot Gun & Banquet. Our goal is to have 12 teams of 12 players per team. The schedule will be posted on Rebel Creek’s League Website. The results will be posted immediately on the league website and on the TVs in the Muskoka Lounge.
Each league player will be allowed to play and post a score that will go towards their “Order of Merit” and Team Score on a Tuesday (maximum of 4 weeks).**
Example: Frank Bester can’t play on Wednesday, May 13 because of work obligations. He can now play and post a score on Tuesday, May 12 (Week #2) which will go towards his “Order of Merit” and team score.
**ONLY 4 Tuesday rounds per player will be allowed. These weeks will be tracked through the pro shop.
**Frank Bester must also play with someone from the league that can attest his score that’s not on his team.
Rebel Cup League Teams
A draft will be held on Wednesday, May 1st when the Rebel Cup teams will be finalized. Each team Captain or their designate will have the opportunity to choose their team during the draft.
One of the highlights of this program is that it automatically calculates and maintains a separate handicap based strictly on your 9-hole league scores. Your starting handicap is determined by your existing Rebel Cup handicap or your Golf Canada handicap. Important: If you do not have a certified handicap for the first 5 weeks you will play to a “0”. Your regular scores outside the league play do not affect your league handicap. Please ensure your Golf Canada Handicap is up to date prior to May 6.
IMPORTANT: Tee Decks Played
This year anyone 69 or younger will played from the Blue Tees and anyone 70 and over can play the White Tees. All participants handicap will be based off the Blue or White tee decks. You can choose to play the BLUE/GOLD, GOLD and TITANIUM tees if you want but your handicap will be based off the BLUE Tees.
This year we will be doing various weekly skins Gross and Net… challenges, patio chip offs and other events to keep the interest up.
There will also be various promotions such as 1st tee sampling including Beer and Pepsi beverages.
Weekly Points – Net Scores Only
Net scores by points are awarded to players each round depending on their posted score in relation to par. Points are awarded based on the net score that is posted by the player.
- 7 Under Par (or better) – 7 points
- 6 Under Par – 6 points
- 5 Under Par – 6 points
- 4 Under Par – 5 points
- 3 Under Par – 5 points
- 2 Under Par – 4 point
- 1 Under Par – 4 points
- Even Par – 3 points
- 1 Over Par – 3 points
- 2 Over Par – 2 points
- 3 Over Par – 2 points
- 4 Over Par (or worse) – 1 point
Once all the players have posted scores for the week, a total team score will be calculated, and standings will be updated. Every teams weekly score will be based on a total of each team players points.
Example of the scoring system:
If Team 1 has all their players play Week 1, then they would have 8 out of 12 players count towards their total team score. Player 1 shoots Net 35 (3 points), Player 2 shoots Net 37 (2 points), Player 3 shoot Net 40 (1 point). After all 8 scores have been entered, Team 1 has a total team score of 25. Each participant’s individual points also count towards their “Order of Merit” standings.
In addition, we will also be running a Coors Contest and year-end tournament for those that qualify:
- The low net winner of the league each week will receive a stainless-steel stein. In the event of a tie the first tie break will be handicap and then Retrogression. You can only win once during the season. If you win low net and have previously won low net honor, then the runner up will get the honors for the week.
- The winner’s stein will stay onsite for the duration of the league season. There will be signage along with hooks or holders to display each stein as the league season progresses.
- Each week, the weekly winners will be able to grab their stein off the wall and receive a FREE Coors product to put in it.
- During the league season each course will be doing Coors competitions for Molson prizes.
Individual Weekly Prizes
- Longest Putt
- Closest to the pin in regulation
- Closest to the Pins (2 per week)
Team Prizes will be awarded based on how your team finished after the 20-week season. Once the Team prizes are handed out, we will refer to the “Order of Merit” rank for the individual prizes.
Top 3 teams after the season has ended (based on 150 participants):
- The 1st Place Team – Team Prize Valued at $2250
- The 2nd Place Team – Team Prize Valued at $1500
- The 3rd Place Team – Team Prize Valued at $1150
The balance of the prize table is awarded to the “Order of Merit”. Participation is promoted all year long, so everyone understands our motto – the more you play the better it is for you and your team.
